How Does Amazon Web Services (AWS) Pricing Work?

Introduction

AWS pricing can be as complicated as the network configuration or application design. At the end of the month, you may have heard stories about users running services and receiving unexpected bills for thousands of dollars.

In fact, AWS pricing is not difficult to understand — you simply pay for the services you actually use.

The knowing which service uses which pricing model. Especially when you first start. This guide explains the pricing method will never be surprised on the bill.

AWS offers two main pricing models,
1) Compute Resources
2) Data Storage Transfer

There are also other pricing models, such as
Request pricing
Monthly targeted audience (MTA) pricing,
Events collected pricing,
Messages sent pricing, and more.

In the following, I will explain the differences between the two major pricing models. Therefore, make sure that any service before using the service.

1) Compute Resources

If you are using a computing resource, you must pay on a per-hour basis from the time the resource is started until it is terminated. Also, if more reservations can receive volume discounts up to 10%.

The following services are available for the computing resource pricing model.

2) Data Storage and Transfer

Using the data storage and transmission resource groups will pay a fee in bytes. This pricing model is also referred to as a tiered model. This means that many aspects of the service are different in terms of cost. For example, Amazon S3 has a different price for storage, and data transfer request. The more you use, however, it reduces the cost you pay per gigabyte decreases bytes.

The following services fall under the data storage and transfer pricing model:
